Your Web Site
When you join UL.net, you have the ability to use your own domain name. You can see your web site by typing your domain name in a web browser. If you choose your domain name as MyCompany.com, your web site will be viewable at the following URLs: http://www.MyCompany.com or http://MyCompany.com.
Every UL.net web site is viewable as a subdirectory under the main UL.net web site. You can access it at the following URL: http://UL.net/~userID (or http://www.UL.net/~userID) where userID is your account name. Please note that your userID is case sensitive. Doimain names (www.domain.com) are not case sensitive.
Automatic Spelling and Capitaliztion Correction
Nothing can be more frustrating than finding broken links and broken images all over your web site. Trying to match capitalization between your HTML files and your graphics and links can be a pain. Another common error is to make a mistake in spelling one of your files or links. Our advanced server technology takes care of all these problems for you. See the examples below for a demonstration of what our servers do automatically to help you.
Examples:
| Actual HTML reference... | http://ul.net/~UserName/IMAGS/Clff.jpeg |
| Automatically refers to... | http://ul.net/~username/images/cliff.jpg |
(Note: the name immediately after ~ must be spelled correctly because it is the User ID)
| Actual HTML reference... | http://www.yourdomain.com/superpag.HTML |
| Automatically refers to... | http://www.yourdomain.com/SuperPage.htm |
